Event Director

The Event Director at FCP Euro leads all activities surrounding brand-building initiatives/events that interface with enthusiasts, motorsports partners, fans, and customers. The activities include everything from budgeting, scheduling, planning, promotion- physical and digital assets, logistics, organizing of resources - employees, partners, and co-op funds, and hospitality.

Success - FCP Euro and the brand is routinely represented in national (and eventually International) events that align with the business’s growth strategies. FCP Euro is positioned as not only a leading online European car parts retailer but as an aspirational automotive thought-leader amongst enthusiasts.

Lead the Master Event Schedule and Alignment

The Event Director will work with the Marketing & Brand Director and the Director of Motorsport to establish a working 12-month master event schedule and provide visibility for all FCP Euro personnel and applicable. The schedule will take into account professional and amateur motorsport events, national and local car shows, and events hosted at our Milford facility.

Success - FCP Euro has an organized, appropriated-distributed, and publicly visible event calendar. The calendar includes not only the events but the promotional activities, deadlines, people and movement schedules.

Logistics Planning - Personnel

The Event Director will coordinate employee attendance in conjunction with event resource requirements. All flights & travel accommodations will be booked in advance utilizing cost-effective means that reduce team travel time/time away from the office and are also ensure the team remains comfortable and productive while traveling.

Success - The FCP Euro team’s travel is cost-effective and efficient and the team arrives on-time and returns on-time, has appropriate accommodations that are comfortable and close to the event.

Logistics Planning - Partners

The Event Director will organize communication to all partners notifying them of participation opportunities in advance of each event. The participation opportunities will be clearly explained and align with Partner Agreements (Partner personnel/staffing, SWAG/giveaway coordination, and any signage to be displayed). During the event period, the Event Director will ensure all Partners/VIPs have visibility into FCP Euro’s plan/schedule and have the appropriate assistance to operate with the FCP Euro team.

Success - The Partners actively participate and assist the FCP Euro team at events and feel important and a welcome part of the team. Fans and Customers enjoy interacting directly with Partners and understand their association with FCP Euro.

Logistics Planning - SWAG/Collateral/Equipment

The Event Director will work with the Marketing & Brand Director and Sr, Designer and will be responsible for creating/ordering, organizing, and coordinating all activation opportunities such as giveaways/SWAG (both FCP Euro and Partners) and collateral (brochures, posters, hero cards). The Event Director will also be responsible for designing/ordering, inventorying, and coordinating all equipment (tents/tables, flags, etc...) that is associated with each event. This includes forecasting and budgeting for additional equipment as necessary and ensuring that each event has the appropriate resources to operate effectively.

Success - Each event has all of the resources and materials necessary to operate in an organized fashion with an Inventory List and Layout plan to aide event staff with set-up, operation, and tear-down. Each event runs smoothly and the materials are inventoried and packed ready

Hospitality & Relationships

The Event Director will work with the Marketing & Brand Director and the Director of Motorsport to provide the Motorsport Team and Partners/VIPs appropriate hospitality at each event. The Event Director will identify and coordinate additional hospitality/exposure opportunities with local communities/influencers and/or race promoters in conjunction with existing events to provide additional benefit to FCP Euro and its partners. The Event Director will also identify and coordinate opportunities to expose new/potential partners to the FCP Euro experience.

Success - Partners feel welcome and enthusiastic to be a partner of the FCP Euro team and inspired to share their experience with their colleagues. Internally, the team is treated well and can operate effectively. Onlookers are constantly impressed with the level of professionalism and energy exuded by the team.

Team Apparel/Branding

The Event Director will work with the Marketing & Brand Director, Director of Motorsport, and Senior Designer to outfit the team, FCP Euro Employees, and Partners in accordance to the team and sanctioning body requirements. The Event Director will maintain a list of all apparel requirements including sizing info. The Event director will assist with designing, ordering, and coordinating distribution of all apparel and maintain the inventory and re-ordering needs.

Success - The team is outfitted with professional looking and aspirational apparel that the team, employees, and partners are proud to wear.

Event Coverage

The Event Director will work with the Marketing & Content Teams to assist with event coverage and content opportunities in conjunction with each event.

Success - The Marketing/Content team knows about potential coverage/content opportunities ahead of time based on the team's schedule and hospitality/exposure

Travel Requirements

The Event Director position will require extensive travel to events. During the race/show season, there will be anywhere from 1-3 events per month that fall on weekends. The race weekend is typically Thursday-Sunday and it is possible the team’s travel days will need to be a day earlier and/or leave a day later. This is not a typical 9-5, Monday-Friday work schedule, however, FCP Euro will offer a flexible work schedule and allocate appropriate days off during the weekdays.


The Event Director is a full-time salary position compensated between $70,000 - $100,000 based on experience.
