Catalog Manager

The Catalog Manager serves as one of the leading members of the Catalog team and is a knowledgeable, strategic, and trusted make-specific resource to the Director of eCommerce and teams throughout the company.

 

A successful Catalog Manager -  Clearly sets aggressive weekly, monthly, and 1-5 year revenue, traffic and marketing goals specific to their makes and achieves them. Partners with Fulfillment and Customer Service departments to provide customers with the best all-around experience. Has a strong working knowledge of finances, budgeting, marketing, and all FCP Euro departments. Understands how their goals impact other teams. Catalog managers are exceptional problem solvers, approaching and solving problems and tasks of all sizes in a welcoming, strategic, and well-communicated manner.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Make Strategist

The Catalog Manager at FCP Euro is responsible for researching and setting the strategy of the make in alignment with the company's objectives. The Catalog Manager identifies opportunities for make-specific growth and actively outlines and justifies strategic moves through a documented strategy, budget, and effective communication within the company.

Success -  The Catalog Manager has effectively researched and identified 1-5 year opportunities for the make and written a concise (<2 page) strategy documenting the activities that will produce results in alignment with company and make objectives. Effectively utilizes a combination of catalog additions, optimizations or reductions when appropriate, and with clear communication, goals, and follow-up.

Goal Setter

The Catalog Manager is responsible for setting their own aggressive weekly, monthly, and 1-5 year revenue, traffic, customer, and marketing goals using daily reporting where necessary and tying them into other departments and company objectives when appropriate.

Success -  Sets outstandingly clear goals in alignment with or in excess of company budgets and communicates progress and shortcomings regularly and always with solutions.

Results Driven

The Catalog Manager at FCP Euro is responsible for achieving growth projections outlined by the Director of eCommerce along with their own personal performance and behavior goals. The catalog manager effectively closes the performance gap through personal and professional development and achieves catalog targets through an effective application of marketing efforts.

Success -  The Catalog Manager achieves results within 5% of budget or projected goals. Effectively utilizes all internal resources including marketing to achieve goals and communicates progress, success, and shortcomings with exceptional clarity to all functional stakeholders.

Problem Solver

The Catalog Manager is an incredible problem solver, actively seeking out issues, proposing multiple solutions, and works with functional leads to implement and assess success without sacrificing daily duties.

Success -  Effectively identifies broken processes, identifies areas for improvement in the catalog and in operations directly relating to the offering, and always presents problems with multiple clever solutions. Has a proven track record of identifying, solving, and implementing permanent solutions to problems.

Leader in Technical Support

The Catalog Manager at FCP Euro is responsible for ensuring all technical inquiries (phone, live chat, ZenDesk, Q&A, Social, Forum, walk-in, etc.) related to the makes they represent are handled using resources at their discretion and within the "FCPEURO" service framework expectations. The Catalog Manager effectively trains other associates on their specialties, assisting wherever required.

Success -  Over 99% of inquires are answered within 24 hours, has established themselves internally as a trusted source for information regarding their specialties’ supply chain, competitors, parts, brands, & fitment, pricing, offering, returns, and DIY & installation support.

Data & Reporting Expert

The Catalog Manager is responsible for all reporting specific to the make and its performance, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual summaries and budgets on all key metrics.  This includes pricing, revenue, and customer metrics, ensuring the accuracy of all data presented.

Success -  Effectively uses data to make decisions, follows up with concise performance updates, regularly highlighting over-performing or under-performing areas without bias.  Has a superior knowledge of Excel and how it interfaces with automated website reports and batch uploads including VLookup, Index/Match, filtering, sensitivity, pivoting, and required formatting and troubleshooting.

Upholding "FCPEURO" Service Framework

The Catalog Manager at FCP Euro is responsible for upholding the "FCPEURO" Service framework both internally and externally.

Success -  The rep achieves a rolling average of minimum 5/7 score on the "FCPEURO" service framework audit.

Marketing & Analysis

Catalog managers are responsible for identifying primary opportunities in the make’s marketing and developing an annual formal marketing strategy and expense budget specific for the make that maintains healthy revenue and margin targets and outlines quarterly objectives and targets. Catalog managers are expected to initiate and guide the development and execution of email campaigns, social media efforts, forum activity, videos, car shows and sponsorships, group buys, promotions, and sales specific to their make.

Catalog managers are expected to engage in annual customer surveys and competitive marketing analysis, addressing customer acquisition opportunities, organizing inbound linking efforts, and developing content to address common incoming questions.

Success -  Can develop and present a comprehensive annual marketing strategy that uses marketing efforts to meet projected revenues within allocated marketing budget. Understands how to and can develop a plan to reduce marketing as a percent of sales for the make.

Pricing

Responsible for setting an annual, quarterly, and ad-hoc pricing strategy by brand and manufacturer and/or product type based on budgetary projections and overall company objectives.

Success -  Has a proven ability to produce and comprehend price elasticity reports to make recommendations on automated pricing rules. Sets clear goals for pricing changes and follows up with extreme clarity to stakeholders.

Compensation

The Catalog Manager position at FCP Euro is an exempt position compensated between $40,000 - $90,000 per year.
